It is an honor for the Hospital Ministry El Buen Samaritano to support the Department of Citizen Culture of the Municipality of Medellín, which is committed to strengthening volunteerism in our city.
This department will carry out activities during the week of November 30 to December 5, 2019, which will highlight the importance of voluntary actions for the construction of the social fabric. These activities will contribute to the promotion of the culture of volunteering, the formation of civic competences and the creation of non-economic incentives that recognize and make visible the social work of volunteering (Decree 1215 of 2012). All of this is part of the guidelines of the public policy of volunteering in Medellín.
As members of the Municipal Volunteer Council (CMVM), we will participate in the activities of the Volunteer Week; At the same time we have nominated our volunteer María Villa for the "HEROES LIKE YOU" awards, who for almost 25 years has put her life, her gifts and talents at the service of society, in the midst of the most vulnerable people, as are the sick. She has also participated in the other programs that the Hospital Ministry carries out with children, the elderly and families in a vulnerable state.
We congratulate the Volunteers who are part of all the programs of the El Buen Samaritano Hospital Ministry: youth, housewives, employees and professionals (psychologists, teachers, chaplains, doctors, etc.). And we are preparing to celebrate with you the International Volunteer Day, next December 5.
Thank you so much for your selfless and selfless service, which, carried out with such love to our fellow people, has greatly honored our God.
