Coordination of volunteers
for visiting and caring for the sick and infirm in hospitals and homes.
NANAS VOLUNTEER WORK (Assisted births, affectionate and safe births).
Volunteer work with METROSALUD
A team of ladies serves with the METROSALUD Hospital Network, helping mothers with safe pregnancies and childbirth.
The NANAS have been trained to:
- Participate in the “Human Birth Plan” – IAMI (Institutional Friends of Women and Infants)
- Assist mothers before, during and after childbirth.
- Provide newborn care and breastfeeding guidelines to new mothers
- Provide new mothers with affective and spiritual support
HEALTHY READING PROMOTION VOLUNTEER WORK
Volunteer work at the León XIII Clinics
This is a team of men and women who are trained to provide:
- Assistance to patients through enjoyable reading activities
- Holistic assistance (physical, emotional and spiritual), to all persons.
VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE ELDERLY
Carried out in nursing homes for the elderly. This work provides:
- Company and care for the elderly
- Social, affective and spiritual support
GENERAL VOLUNTEER WORK
Men and Women, “Doers of good deeds”. These volunteers visit the sick and infirm in hospitals and homes to:
Visitan a los enfermos en los hospitales y los hogares, para:
- Offer company
- Listen actively
- Provide holistic support (physical, emotional and spiritual)
They also provide social and humanitarian assistance to those in need:
- Patient care
- Medication
- Provision of toiletries, orthopedic equipment, among others
